I managed to get through most of the manual while it was going through the initial charge and I found some interesting things that I could incorporate right away to make the learning curve a little shorter. My maiden voyage was really fun! I pulled together a couple of irons and my driver, threw them in a canvas golf bag I use for the driving range, slung it across my shoulder, mounted the hoverboard and off to the driving range about 1.5 miles from my house. Got a couple of strange looks but I could care less.
It was nice to get out early in the morning and turn my trip to the driving range into a little adventure. No lag whatsoever in power. It handled the extra weight of the golf clubs and bag with no issues. I averaged 8 miles per hour whether uphill or downhill. I used the sidewalk from my house all the way to the golf course driving range and didn't run into any issues. I will say one thing though...you end up getting a good ab and thigh workout whether you realize it or not. I noticed my abs and thighs were a little tight after the ride and that's probably because of being conscious or self aware about maintaining my balance, even though the gyro takes care of that for you. All in all, it's a fun way to travel short distances while out and about getting some fresh air. I do use a treadmill and a recumbent bike to exercise and that's helped with being able to use the hoverboard too. I highly recommend this product!
Mike R Two things to know, it is heavy, 32 pounds. Second, watch the power level, loss of self balance is abrupt.
This is a very heavy duty hoverboard, built like a tank. Bought it for my 14 year old daughter, she is an advanced rider. The 10" wheels really make it an off-roader and the battery life per charge is amazing. Up to 12 miles per charge. First day she road it for 4.5 hours on a single charge, up and down 20 degree grades, in the grass, on gravel, through puddles. It is very quick, up to 12 mph. She hasn't tried the blue tooth speakers yet, we just put the app (downloaded from Google Play store) on it last evening, This model comes with pneumatic tires which give it great tractionand a softer feel while riding.
The indicator lighting are amazing, the logic circuit board was very well designed. The on-board power monitor is very easy to see and accurate. There are three modes including advanced which she has not tried yet. All in all I highly recommend this hoverboard for all rider experience levels. The auto balance is terrific.
dirtbikemommieHolding up great and pretty versatile.
I have had this hoverboard for a few months now and it has held up great! It has been met with all sorts of terrain and conditions that I would say have put it to the test. It has been ridden through rough dirt, gravel, sand, wet grass, ect. The board has even been used to shuttle things like stacks of wood and other things from place to place. The battery life is pretty good, usually will last me the entire day. Even though the smart charger kicks off after the hoverboard is fully charged, I wouldn't recommend leaving it charging for hours after it is finished. I would also recommend frequently topping off the battery rather than letting it completely run out and then fully charging it again, a complete discharge and recharge is harder on a lithium battery than frequent top offs.
I usually let the battery go down to around 2-3 bars and then charge it up. The speakers in my opinion are not that great, seemed like an afterthought and a mostly useless addition to the board. There are two speaker grills on the bottom of the board, however there is actually only one speaker installed. I never had high hopes for the speakers, nor did I buy the board for the speakers either, so this did not affect my opinion of the board. For some extra protection, I ended up covering the speaker holes with gorilla tape to prevent moisture and dust from entering. All in all, this board has been fantastic and has provided loads of fun for me, my friends, and family.
